The Ali Be’er school was established 37 years ago in the Talpiot region in Jerusalem. 180 boys and 120 girls K-8 attend daily classes. The educational program in Judaic and secular studies is in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Education. The small classes enables the teachers to provide a warm teaching environment, and give more of the teaching time for those weaker students. The children in attendance are all from a low socio economic group. In order to up grade the ability for the children?s social and educational development, the school?s professional staff has an on going working relationship with the parents. The school has a psychologist on board as well. The Social Service Office are assisting many of these families with their needs as well. Due to the low come status of the families, the school lacks up to date educational and recreational equipment which would enhance the teaching environment .
