Our Mission: To use the theatrical experience to help Druze youth to find characters that they can identify with and encounter others who are different from them. To encourage Druse children and youth to embrace their own cultural heritage and introduce the richness of Druse culture to other Israelis who may not be familiar with our way of life and history. The NPO was formed in 2004 in order to answer the need for educational theater in Arabic. Our performances in Arabic enable us to reach diverse communities in Israel, from the Druse in the North to the Bedouin in the South, and the many Muslim and Christian communities in between. We also have produced a play in Hebrew that addresses issues that all Israelis can relate to and allows us to reach audiences who do not speak Arabic. We receive guidance from the Ministry of Education and other educational advisors so that each play is tailored to the correct age group and has a clear educational message. The budget for each play includes script, production costs, lights, sound, music, hair and makeup, costumes, set and props, advertising, rehearsal costs, and salaries for actors. The movie production costs are higher as they include filming, editing, a larger cast and higher production costs.
