Al-Anwar Association for the Advancement of Women, based in Umm al-Fahm, has been active since 2000 in advancing the rights, opportunities, and well-being of women and children in the Arab community. The Association operates a childcare complex of kindergartens and daycare centers serving young children, employing dozens of local women and working with professional staff, including a psychologist who consults within its programs. Al-Anwar also has extensive experience supporting children at risk, working in coordination with local welfare services, which refer vulnerable children to its care. Alongside its work with children, the Association runs a range of programs promoting women’s empowerment and independence, including leadership and small-business training, financial education, employment initiatives, health conferences, and parenting and family education. Through more than two decades of community-based work, Al-Anwar has built trusted relationships across Umm al-Fahm and developed the experience to identify community needs and translate them into practical, accessible programs, supporting women’s independence while providing safe, nurturing environments for children and families.
