Akim Haifa protects the rights of people with intellectual developmental disabilities, providing them with education, treatement and care so that they may realize their potential and integrate into society as individuals. A nonprofit organization with over 65 years of history, Akim Haifa?s educational and theraputic programs change the lives of hundreds of intellectually disabled children, adults and senior citizens as well as their families from Tirat Carmel in the south through Haifa and the Krayot to the Galilee communities in the north. Akim Haifa provides unique housing solutions, a special education school, a rehabilitation day center for adults, a social club and other activities throughout the year. Our frameworks help intellectually disabled children and adults to lead independent lives and integrate within their communities as contributing members. Each person, regardless of disability, deserves to lead a life of dignity and respect in the community and to pursue a productive and meaningful life.
