Founded in 2007, Afikim’s aims to provide children living in poverty and at risk with their immediate needs and to integrate them into a long-term program of six years, guiding them towards excellence in terms of their education, values and character by means of learning enrichment, emotional support, value-oriented education and development of personal gifts. Simultaneously, the integration of the children’s parents into the Center for Parental Empowerment will strengthen the family’s emotional and financial stability. This six-year integrated program for children and their parents will help families escape the poverty cycle and improve their overall welfare, by supporting the parents as they seek employment, financial independence and proper family management.
